As the 139th Canton Fair opens under the theme of Advanced Manufacturing, the global kitchen and bath industry is clearly moving toward a new direction — smarter, more integrated, and more user-centered solutions.

The 139th Canton Fair will be held from April 15 to May 5, 2026, with Phase 1 (April 15–19) focusing on Advanced Manufacturing, where kitchen sink and sanitary ware companies are most concentrated.

This transformation — from a basic washing tool to a kitchen workstation — is one of the most important design trends in 2026. Traditionally, sinks served only one function: cleaning. Today, they are evolving into a compact preparation hub that significantly improves kitchen efficiency.
Through a carefully designed accessory system, the sink becomes a multifunctional workspace. Cutting boards, drain baskets, glass covers, and knife holders work together to allow users to complete cutting, washing, draining, defrosting, and even waste sorting within a space of just 0.5 square meters. In parallel, antibacterial surface treatments — including silver-ion coatings — are becoming key selling points as consumers place greater emphasis on kitchen hygiene.
A particularly important technical breakthrough is the development of integrated seamless drain systems. By eliminating the traditional gap between the drain and the sink body, this innovation not only prevents leakage but also removes one of the most common sources of mold and dirt buildup, achieving a truly hygienic, no-dead-corner design.
Looking ahead, the industry is entering a new phase driven by AI-powered kitchen solutions.
The emergence of sinks equipped with multimodal AI systems marks a shift from hardware manufacturing to intelligent interaction. These systems integrate computer vision, natural language processing, and contextual computing, enabling features such as ingredient recognition, automatic recipe recommendations, and coordinated cooking guidance.
This evolution is reshaping the industry. Competition is no longer defined solely by material thickness or capacity, but increasingly by user experience and ecosystem integration. It also raises the entry barrier, requiring manufacturers to combine expertise in hardware, software, and system design.
